A Typical Day
Engage in tax compliance activities and research for S and C Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Not-for-Profit Entities, and Individuals. Key responsibilities will involve Federal and State Income and Franchise Tax.

As a Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include:


Preparing and reviewing federal and state income and franchise tax returns for all affiliated entities, which includes: Collecting and evaluating financial data and tax regulations to determine tax adjustments, and interpreting tax form guidelines to ensure accurate reporting.

Creating supporting documentation and maintaining tax records, Preparing tax filings, Reviewing tax submissions, Importing computerized general ledger data into Excel spreadsheets and transforming the information into the necessary format for tax return preparation software, Processing tax filings.
Compiling data requests for external providers and analyzing tax items for reporting purposes.
Collaborating and communicating with accounting staff/controllers to address any inquiries or issues arising from data analysis.
Assisting in the preparation of quarterly taxable income estimates (federal and state) and year-end calculations for all entities.
Investigating issues related to the taxation of various entities and stakeholders.
Supporting the annual and quarterly ASC 740 tax provision, including gathering and analyzing source data.
Assisting accountants in reviewing the categorization and coordination of unique transactions.
Contributing to various special projects. Responding to tax authorities regarding notices.
Assisting with the detailed review of items prepared by Tax Accountants.

What We Require From You

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution Required
5-7 years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience Required
Familiarity with One Source tax software Preferred
Extensive experience in preparing various tax returns and readiness to begin detailed reviews Preferred
Experience in the insurance sector and ASC 740 Preferred
Goal-oriented and self-driven.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and accept significant responsibilities.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Capacity to work independently without close supervision.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional demeanor.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress towards certification Preferred

Physical and Environmental Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.

While executing the responsibilities of the position, the associate is required daily to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain stationary for a significant portion of the workday, frequently accessing, inputting, and retrieving information from computers and other office productivity devices.

The associate is regularly required to navigate the office environment. The associate must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
