Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of healthcare education and research.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will work in a clinical setting, providing advanced nursing care to patients in a specialized area under the direction of a physician. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient assessments and physical examinations
  • Coordinate and implement patient care plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Make medical recommendations and referrals
  • Develop and evaluate treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Provide patient education and health promotion
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements:
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Texas licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program
