Lafayette Physical Therapy, Inc. is a private practice with over 46 years of experience in providing rehabilitation and wellness services to a diverse clientele. Our two locations, Lafayette Physical Therapy and Bay Area Physical Therapy, offer a range of disciplines including orthopedics, sports, and geriatric rehabilitation. Our therapists are trained in various techniques such as Australian manual therapy, McKenzie approach, Gary Gray, PNF, sports training, Pilates, and Myofascial Release Therapy.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Physical Therapy Aide to join our skilled team. The successful candidate will assist our physical therapists in patient care, clinic duties, and help maintain a smooth and efficient clinic operation. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the medical field, especially for individuals pursuing a degree in physical therapy or related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
    • Assist in patient flow and modality setups, including heat/ice, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, light therapy, Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, and traction.
    • Under the supervision of the therapist, assist with therapeutic exercises and instruction, and inform therapists of patient responses to treatments.
  • Clinic/Office Duties:
    • Maintain stock and supplies, keep the clinic clean and organized, and perform minor housekeeping tasks.
    • Adhere to HIPAA Privacy Regulations and attend staff meetings and in-services regularly.
  • Performance Measurements:
    • Adaptability, speed, accuracy, and volume of work accomplished.
    • Willingness to remain flexible and take direction.
    • Performance of required duties and communication with patients, staff, and management.

Requirements:

  • Good customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction and follow-through with tasks.
  • Ability to be self-directed when necessary and strictly adhere to task priority and relevance.
  • Ability to judge good body mechanics and have a good understanding of posture and muscle groups.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; current or planned enrollment in a related clinical field is a plus.
