Position: Facility Maintenance and Custodial Services Associate

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance and Custodial Services Associate for our Senior Community Center. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our senior residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily cleaning operations within the senior center, ensuring both indoor and outdoor areas are well-maintained. Responsibilities include mopping floors, dusting surfaces, sanitizing restrooms, and overseeing exterior cleanliness.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts on a daily basis, ensuring proper placement in designated receptacles.
  • Regularly test and maintain security and fire alarm systems to ensure safety protocols are upheld.
  • Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that storage areas are organized and well-stocked.
  • Carry out minor maintenance tasks and promptly report any significant repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Assist in the preparation and cleanup for events and gatherings at the center.
  • Implement pest control measures as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in custodial or maintenance roles.
  • Ability to work independently while consistently following established procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently. Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary.

Work Environment

  • Comfortable working with various cleaning equipment and supplies, with awareness of associated risks.

Language Skills

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
