Position Overview

The primary objective is to stabilize symptoms and minimize the need for more intensive interventions. Patients typically stay for a brief period, during which they receive comprehensive clinical care aimed at facilitating their return to a stable living environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Therapist in this acute care setting is responsible for delivering individualized, group, and family therapy. Key duties include:

  • Conducting thorough clinical assessments to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Implementing tailored treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • Leading therapeutic sessions using various modalities to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Providing crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies during critical situations.
  • Overseeing the implementation of behavior management strategies.
  • Coordinating discharge planning and transition to less restrictive care environments.
  • Maintaining effective communication with the treatment team and external partners.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and supervision.
  • Documenting all clinical interactions and treatment progress in accordance with organizational policies.
Physical Requirements

This role involves a variety of physical activities, including:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with the ability to adapt positions as necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds to assist with patient care.
  • Engaging in quick movements when required to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintaining physical stamina to support various therapeutic activities.
Qualifications

A Master's degree in a relevant mental health field is required for this position.
