About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our team at NV5. As a GIS Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Oregon & Washington Land Records Team with geospatial support for the OR & WA BLM Branch of Geographic Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expertise in GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of federal land tenure records, the Public Land Survey System, and legacy BLM Land Records Systems.
  • Work effectively in a team to develop high-quality GIS products, including advanced editing, data maintenance, and mapping.
  • Produce publication-quality cartographic products and implement FGDC-compliant metadata.
  • Assist with data collection, consolidation, sharing, and general data management activities.
  • Analyze and mine business data to identify patterns and correlations among various data points.
  • Develop quality control procedures for datasets and analyses.
  • Improve the quality and accessibility of BLM geospatial data.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Skilled in the use of ArcGIS Enterprise systems and web services (3 years of experience or greater preferred).
  • Professional knowledge of geodatabase management, including data standards and legacy data incorporation.
  • Professional experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal, Hub, and various applications.
  • Strong productive collaboration and communication skills with other specialists.
