Position Overview:

In the role of Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you will be instrumental in developing, achieving, and sustaining the objectives of a unit or department by focusing on daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive and healthy work environment by being present and accessible to all staff and patients.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to maintain productivity, support initiatives, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Identify staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practices and education.
- Manage daily productivity and expenses while assisting the unit/department manager with budget preparation.
- Prioritize patient safety, experience, and performance improvement in alignment with departmental goals.
- Encourage employee engagement in decision-making through shared governance and support change management initiatives.
- Promote professional development to enhance employee retention.
Qualifications:
To embody the spirit of humankindness in the workplace, qualified candidates for the Assistant Nurse Manager position should possess the following:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical ICU RN experience.
- Preferred 1 year of clinical leadership experience.
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN) is required.
- Current RN License to practice in the state of employment.
- Life Support Certifications as per departmental standards; e.g., NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, etc.
Nursing Specialty Certification:
Certification is required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer, with a goal to achieve certification within 2 years of entering this role.
Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.
