Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Education Regional Lead to join our team at Phalen Leadership Academies. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with disabilities and their families.

About the Role:

The Special Education Regional Lead will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing PLA's National SPED Division's Standards of Compliance within their region. They will develop positive and supportive relationships with SPED teachers, building leadership, vendors, and staff, and provide direct support to the SPED and 504 POC at the building level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support PLA's National SPED Division's efforts to adhere to SPED federal and state mandates and guidelines
  • Oversee and enforce PLA's National SPED Division's Standards of Compliance within their region
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with SPED teachers, building leadership, vendors, and staff
  • Provide direct support to the SPED and 504 POC at the building level
  • Attend I-Team Meetings at each campus and serve as the district LEA for IEP meetings when needed
  • Partner with the instructional specialist to improve instruction for students with disabilities
  • Lead data-driven conversations about students with disabilities and scholars presented during bi-weekly Interdisciplinary Team meetings
  • Ensure testing accommodations are accurate and appropriate for students with disabilities for state and school-based assessments
  • Ensure students with disabilities are receiving their services and support in accordance with their IEP and 504
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and support to SPED teachers, service providers, and 504 Coordinators
  • Assist with the preparation of data collection for students with disabilities and scholars with 504s
  • Caseload List/assignment organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred
  • Valid state teaching license
  • Valid special education certification/credentials
