Key Responsibilities
The Infusion Nurse is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of patients receiving infusion therapy at Amerita.
- Complies with established policies and procedures relevant to infusion nursing, pharmacy services, and applicable state regulations.
- Follows INS and IgNS practice standards, CDC guidelines, and the ethical code set forth by the American Nurses Association.
- Works collaboratively with pharmacy personnel, physicians, and patients to set and evaluate therapeutic goals.
- Conducts thorough assessments of assigned patients and develops individualized Plans of Care.
- Manages vascular access devices, including the insertion of peripheral infusion devices or peripherally inserted central catheters (if certified).
- Provides education to patients and their caregivers regarding treatment plans.
- Monitors patient progress towards goals and recommends adjustments to the Plan of Care based on individual needs.
- Coordinates nursing services with home health agencies and other community resources as necessary.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Active nursing license in the state(s) of practice.
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience in infusion therapy and home health care is preferred.
- Significant experience in IV therapy is advantageous.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Availability to work flexible shifts as needed.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance are necessary.
- Must meet company standards for driving history and age requirements.
