COMPENSATION: $16.79 PER HOUR
POSITION SUMMARY
The Academic Support Tutor is responsible for facilitating educational sessions aimed at assisting participants in acquiring the necessary skills to excel in their academic pursuits. This role involves providing personalized and small group tutoring in various subjects, including Mathematics, English, and Science, as directed by the Lead Tutor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct tutoring sessions to enhance participants' understanding of academic content.
- Maintain daily logs of tutoring activities and prepare weekly progress reports.
- Oversee the utilization of educational resources (such as laptops and textbooks) during sessions.
- Organize and prepare the learning environment for effective tutoring.
- Document observations and track student progress through written records.
- Collaborate with the Lead Tutor, Project Advisor, and Director regarding participant development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprint clearance and verification of personal references.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in relevant subject areas.
EXPERIENCE:
- Entry-level position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in overcoming challenges similar to those faced by the students.
