The Airborne ISR Systems Division within the Airborne Solutions Group at Leidos is currently looking for a Blackhawk Flight Instructor. This role is integral to our aviation training services, focusing on providing comprehensive flight instruction, simulation training, and classroom education. Our team is responsible for ensuring that all training activities align with established military standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate training records for students and ensure compliance with readiness level progression requirements.
  • Deliver instruction and assessment to student pilots in accordance with approved training packages.
  • Conduct daily academic sessions covering various approved courses, including Aircraft Qualification and Instructor Pilot Courses.
  • Facilitate pre-flight planning and conduct thorough after-action reviews for all training flights and simulation exercises.
  • Fulfill all aircrew training program requirements as per military regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate daily operational tasks and schedules for contract personnel to meet training objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant military and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to confirm that all instructors are qualified to perform aviation training tasks.
  • Report flight and operational data as required in monthly reports.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years of experience; or a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience; or a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Instructor Pilot experience with at least 250 military flight hours and/or 2 years of instructional experience in an accredited program.
  • Qualified Instructor Pilot in the relevant aircraft type.
  • Completion of an Instructor Training Course or equivalent qualification.
  • Possession of a valid FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
  • Ability to pass a FAA Second Class flight physical.
  • Experience in a military training environment at the company or battalion level.
  • Must meet all instructor qualification standards as outlined by military regulations.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience as an Instructor Pilot in recognized Army Aviation Training Centers.
  • Desirable qualifications include Instrument Flight Examiner certification.
