Job Overview:
This role is focused on the development and implementation of comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. The individual will collaborate with senior leadership, management, and subject matter experts to formulate effective plans that address potential disruptions. Responsibilities include the creation, maintenance, and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery protocols, encompassing risk assessments, business impact evaluations, strategy formulation, and the documentation of essential procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate disaster recovery strategies for critical operational sites, ensuring the protection of vital assets.
- Establish contingency plans to effectively manage organizational emergencies.
- Conduct thorough testing of documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
- Evaluate the impact and risks associated with key business functions and information systems to determine acceptable recovery timeframes and resource needs.
- Assess and mitigate risks to business operations.
- Develop emergency management frameworks for decision-making and communication during recovery, ensuring the continuity of essential departmental functions.
- Review and enhance existing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Establish and maintain communication protocols during disaster scenarios.
- Oversee the integration and operationalization of contingency plans.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing testing activities, including objectives, planning, execution, results, and recommendations.
- Develop budgets for business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay informed about advancements in disaster recovery and business continuity.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in creating disaster recovery plans for critical infrastructure.
- Proven ability to develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans across various sectors.
- Strong background in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses.
- Educational background in Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Information Technology, or Risk Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Special Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks and cloud services.
- Understanding of data backup and recovery technologies.
- Proficiency in risk management tools and software.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Capacity to develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff preparedness.
