Position Overview

The Compass Rose Foundation is dedicated to providing top-notch educational programs in Commercial Truck Driving. We are currently looking for skilled Class A Driver/Instructors who are passionate about imparting their expertise to aspiring OTR trainees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly review and adhere to the Instructor Handbook.
  • Implement the established curriculum effectively.
  • Assess and ensure student competency in various topics.
  • Evaluate and provide grades based on student performance.
  • Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment in both classroom and practical settings.
  • Engage in professional and effective communication with both colleagues and students.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of verified experience operating a Class A commercial vehicle.
  • Possession of a valid CDL CLASS A license.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check.
  • While prior teaching experience is not mandatory, the ability to convey concepts clearly in both written and verbal forms is highly valued.
  • A dynamic and engaging personality is preferred, as our students often have work commitments before or after class.
  • Experience as a CDL Examiner is advantageous.

Work Schedule: Part-time, with classes held Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and occasional Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.
