At Argonne National Laboratory, we are seeking a highly skilled Sustainable Materials Research Director to lead our research efforts in developing innovative sustainable materials and processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of researchers and scientists to drive impactful projects that contribute to the development of decarbonization technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of conceptual process design, economics, and sustainability analysis of sustainable materials and processes for a circular economy. They should also be able to identify new research areas, develop and market proposals, and build trusted sponsor relationships. The successful candidate will have experience leading interdisciplinary research projects and the ability to lead a team involving multi-disciplinary scientists and engineers at all experience levels.

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree and 5+ years of experience, or a Doctorate degree and 4+ years of experience. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, good computer programming skills, and experience working with Aspen Plus or other chemical engineering commercial process simulators.
