We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook + Garde Manger to join our culinary team at Kimpton Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastry and bakery items that exceed our guests' expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare all pastry items for the restaurant according to specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in presentation and taste.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, pastry, cooking, and refrigeration equipment, adhering to health regulations and departmental policies.
- Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests, ensuring timely production and adherence to menu standards.
- Implement proper sanitation practices to prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods, ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations.
- Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing ones, staying up-to-date with culinary trends and techniques.
- 1 year of prior experience in the pastry department of a high-volume, full-service restaurant or supportive role.
- Time management and organizational ability required for high-quality food production.
- Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks.
- Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
