Job Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in St. Paul.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, with expertise in processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Invoice Processing:
  • Receive, review, and validate invoices and check requests.
  • Organize, code, and match invoices accurately.
  • Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system efficiently.
  • Schedule and set up invoices for payment runs.
  • Payment Processing:
  • Prepare and execute electronic payments and transfers.
  • Manage and perform regular check runs.
  • Record transactions in journals, ledgers, and other financial records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Address and resolve invoice discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Communicate with vendors and respond to inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain and update vendor files as needed.
  • Expense Reports:
  • Process employee expense reports efficiently.
  • Review and audit expense reports for compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare reconciliations and reports as required.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
