Job Overview

Position Title: PASL Quality Specialist

Role Summary:

The PASL Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting all fundamental operations associated with PASL.

  • This position reports directly to the Laboratory Director.
  • The specialist assists the Laboratory Director in various responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment within PASL and align with Phigenics safety initiatives.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all PASL services and operational procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to chemistry, logistics, manufacturing, and microbiology.
  • Develop new SOPs and conduct annual reviews of existing SOPs for all relevant methods and workflows.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in significant scientific laboratory operations.
  • Implement and uphold the Quality Management System in compliance with both internal and external standards.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of PASL quality control and assurance by evaluating QA/QC processes and supervising their execution.
  • Support the Corrective Action and Preventative Action initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain the PASL Safety Program in accordance with established standards.
  • Review and update the PASL safety manual annually.
  • Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, including scheduling preventative maintenance, managing the calibration program, assisting with troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.
  • Conduct the annual internal audit program and assist with external audits.
  • Utilize PASL software tools and systems effectively and collaborate with other departments to meet business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, sometimes with little notice.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and laboratory software.

Accountabilities:

  • Prioritize safety; no accidents are acceptable.
  • Ensure effective execution of the quality management system and associated QA/QC procedures.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance PASL SOPs and workflow processes.
  • Facilitate training programs for staff.
  • Oversee safety protocols and related procedures.
  • Manage the laboratory equipment program and associated procedures.
  • Administer laboratory software and system tools.
