Position Summary

HII Mission Technologies is currently in search of a Somali Linguistic Specialist to execute tasks necessary for processing language materials/data at a designated customer site.

HII - Mission Technologies offers essential engineering and technical services to a diverse range of clients, including Information Technology, Federal Civilian, National Security, Aerospace & Defense, and commercial sectors across over 100 locations globally.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will exhibit the following cryptologic language processing capabilities:

  • Scanning, sorting, and categorizing foreign language written and verbal materials to extract critical information
  • Producing lists, translations, and transcriptions of intricate written and/or spoken materials from Somali to English and vice versa
  • Conducting quality assurance on language processing tasks
  • Compiling and maintaining operational work aids and databases
  • Drafting comprehensive intelligence reports
Qualifications
  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or a High School Diploma with 13 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 3 in audio and text translation from Somali into idiomatic, standard American English; this skill level must be documented within the last 2 years prior to application.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Cryptologic Operations performing language processing in the required languages.
  • Experience in translating, transcribing, and gisting.
