Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Assist students in demonstrating self-confidence in reaching educational goals.
  • Confer with students, parents, and teachers as needed.
  • Place students in instructional programs.
  • Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff members to access community resources.
  • Provide college and career awareness activities.
  • Serve on the District Crisis Team.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Professional School counselor's certificate.
  • Two or more years of successful teaching experience.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to instruct students to make positive decisions in reaching responsible behavior.
