Position Summary: The Quality Control Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections during the production phase to monitor quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Evaluate materials for quality and detect any defects, ensuring optimal use of resources to enhance productivity.
  • Verify that parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes comply with specified drawings and standards.
  • Document any discrepancies found in drawings, bills of materials, and processes, reporting them to the relevant departments for resolution.
  • Maintain an updated rejection list, following up on outstanding issues until resolved.
  • Ensure the quality of finished products meets established criteria.
  • Inspect incoming materials from suppliers prior to their use in production.
  • Examine components, subassemblies, assemblies, and completed products for quality assurance.
  • Utilize appropriate measuring tools, such as tape measures and calipers, to test and analyze products.
  • Record inspection results, including pass/fail ratings.
  • Generate comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while optimizing space usage.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform inspections in accordance with applicable Bills of Materials (BOM) and work instructions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated with current work instructions and revisions.
  • Work safely and effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as needed.
  • Meet or exceed production goals consistently.
  • Comply with quality standards and regulations.
  • Keep supervisors informed about work status and any issues encountered.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with metric measurement systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using a torque wrench.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Willingness to work overtime on short notice when necessary.
  • Ability to initiate and review Non-Conformance procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of inspection criteria for welding, riveting, and sealing processes.
  • Experience reading schematics related to wiring and airline systems.
  • Familiarity with chassis and suspension assembly processes.
  • Ability to identify paint defects and perform paint inspections.
  • Experience with various testing methods, including air leak and performance testing.

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to high noise levels and varying temperature conditions typical of a manufacturing setting. Safety equipment, including eye protection and hearing protection, is required. Employees may encounter caustic materials and must adhere to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, use hands for handling objects, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
