Medical Billing and Collections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced medical billing professional to join our team at a rapidly growing neurosurgery practice. This is a unique opportunity to work in a respected and dynamic environment as a valued member of the Billing Department. Our practice specializes in treating patients with neck, back, and spine pain, as well as complex brain and spinal surgical cases.
Major Responsibilities:
- Review and follow up on in-network and out-of-network claims using available tools.
- Prioritize follow-up on claim volume in a fast-paced environment.
- Write claim appeals for denials or incorrect payments.
- Review monthly patient statements, set up payment plans, and make collection agency referrals.
Requirements:
- Experience in both in-network and out-of-network surgical medical billing/collections, all commercial carriers, Medicare/Medicaid.
- ICD10 and CPT4 coding knowledge and experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently towards departmental goals and think creatively.
- Interact with staff and physicians in a professional manner.
