Are you a skilled and compassionate nurse looking for a challenging and rewarding role? Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced RN OR First Assist to join our team at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

About the Role

As a RN OR First Assist, you will play a critical role in the surgical team, assisting surgeons during operations and providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and passing medical instruments to the surgeons. You will also assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and provide general nursing care before and after surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during operations, maintaining a sterile environment and passing medical instruments
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available
  • Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and provide general nursing care before and after surgery
  • Review charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols
  • Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of employment
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) or Certified First Assistant (CFA) certification
