Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Warehouse Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and sorting damaged or defective merchandise, reducing salvage, and obtaining return authorizations from vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately process damaged or defective merchandise by following salvage, donation, vendor return, reverse logistic, hazardous waste, and destroy procedures.
  • Obtain return authorizations from vendors, process vendor chargebacks, and package and ship merchandise returns based on vendor return policies.
  • Maintain accurate stock/inventory status for all damaged, defective, and returned merchandise.
  • Assess breakage logs associated with leaking, spoiled, and broken merchandise and process merchandise out of inventory.
  • Conduct daily club safety walks and escalate findings to Asset Protection Supervisor.
  • Support Inventory Control Count Team in executing count processing as assigned.
  • Review daily return reports, process merchandise recalls, and process tire and battery returns.
  • Ensure adherence to AFS and release dates.
  • Process the 945/948/950 in partnership with the AP Specialist.
  • Re-wrap sellable merchandise using appropriate seal and shrink-wrap packaging guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized department, adhering to established safety, filing organization, and lock-up standards.
Requirements
  • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent movement on hard surfaces, bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing ladders/step stools. You will also be required to lift objects up to 30 pounds and may need to lift and move heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. You will be exposed to both indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as occasional exposure to extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers. You will also be frequently exposed to hazardous materials.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is $16.25. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications.
