The Educational Diagnostician plays a critical role in ensuring the success of students with special needs by working with the Special Programs team, regional leaders, campus leaders, parents, and Special Education and General Education teachers. This position requires a strong understanding of assessment, eligibility for Special Education, academic and behavioral interventions, state and federal legal frameworks for Special Education, and compliance with Special Education legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Support Special Education Teachers: Develop and implement IEP academic, behavioral, and social goals in collaboration with special education teachers.
- Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure 100% compliance in Annual ARDs and maintain accurate and timely records of student services.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other related service personnel to ensure completion of ARD paperwork and maintain open communication with campus coordinators.
- Student Support: Establish and execute Critical Student Instruction groups with fidelity, provide support to 504 campus coordinators, and conduct dyslexia evaluations for 504 students.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct multidisciplinary evaluations, full and individual evaluations, and adhere to the most up-to-date evaluation tools and standards.
- Professional Development: Provide guidance on academic and behavioral interventions, track and document interventions, and aid campuses in completing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Education and Certification: Master's degree in Special Education or Education from an accredited college or university, and a Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a campus Educational Diagnostician, preferred.
IDEA Public Schools offers a competitive salary range of $70,500 to $82,100, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, disability, life insurance, and a 403(b) plan.
