Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our care team at Suite Living Senior Care. As a LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care and services to our residents, working under the direction of our Registered Nurses. Your duties will include assisting with admission procedures, training unlicensed staff, providing medication, treatment administration, and personal care. You will also be responsible for supervising, training, and monitoring unlicensed staff, conducting focused assessments, and reporting changes in client condition to the RN. Responsibilities:

• Conduct focused assessments and report results to the RN
• Ensure unlicensed staff members perform duties and responsibilities in a timely and quality manner, and report problems to the RN
• Report changes in client condition or other concerns about clients to the RN in a timely manner
• Initiate emergency procedures for clients and report to the RN
• Review client care plans developed by the RN and consult with the RN about client conditions and their treatments
• Assist with implementation of physician orders
• Carry out proper charting practices and documentation procedures
• Assist with initiation of services for new clients, transfers to settings such as hospitals, nursing homes or assisted living, and discharges as requested by the RN Supervisor
• Assemble and operate equipment such as oxygen suppliers and other equipment used for client care
• Order, set up, and administer medications
• Assist the RN in orienting, training, and mentoring new staff
• Attend required meetings, in-service training, and conferences
• Perform delegated tasks and other duties as assigned by the RN
• Assist the RN in the monitoring and evaluation of the job performance of unlicensed staff
• Schedule and assist work of unlicensed staff within established guidelines

Requirements:

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current licensure with the State of Minnesota
• Current CPR certification
• 1 or more years experience in Long-Term Care highly preferred
• Interest in gerontological nursing, rehabilitative, and restorative clinical practices
• Trained Medication Aide (TMA) a plus
• PointClickCare experience preferred
• Must be knowledgeable about validation techniques, reality orientation, and/or appropriate diversional activities for clients with Dementia
• Must receive a 'Not Disqualified' criminal background result from the Department of Human Services and may not be on the OIG Exclusions List
• Must be screened for TB
