We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head Coach for our Women's and Men's Squash program at Chatham University. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the program to excellence, developing and implementing strategies to enhance student-athlete performance, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to build a competitive squash program with strong recruiting efforts nationally and internationally.
- Strategically plan and execute scheduling and travel arrangements for conference and non-conference games and tournaments to advance the program and maximize resources.
- Prepare student-athletes for competition through thorough analysis and breakdown of opponents.
- Develop and recommend specific training and conditioning programs and skills development programs.
- Team Management and Administration
- Oversee the appointments and supervision of Assistant Coaches and support staff for the squash program.
- Coordinate athletic events and programs to enhance campus community and school pride.
- Ensure proper safety precautions are always followed.
- Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and policies of governing bodies.
- Recruitment and Retention
- Work collaboratively with the University to plan, organize, implement, and follow up on recruiting efforts through written, verbal, and personal contact with student-athletes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with alumni and other constituents to further the goals of the squash program, athletics department, and Chatham University.
- Budget and Resource Management
- Oversee budget and resource management for the squash program.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Work in coordination with the Director of Athletics, other coaches, and staff to support and achieve overall goals established by the athletics department.
- Collaborate with other students, faculty, and staff to support the retention of student-athletes and promote teamwork, set high standards, and support the academic, personal, and leadership development of students.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years of coaching experience, computer proficiency, and a valid driver's license.
