Job Title: Deli Manager

At Hassan & Sons Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our deli department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team of 3-10 people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the deli department, including managing inventory, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring high-quality products.
  • Process orders, manage inventory, and take weekly and monthly audits of inventory.
  • Ensure proper preparation of food items and follow food safety protocols in accordance with Power Market standards and Serv Safe protocols.
  • Train new staff on deli procedures and ensure that all department equipment is properly used and maintained.
  • Take orders in person and over the phone, handle customer complaints, and maintain a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age and able to obtain and retain a Serv Safe Managers Certification.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to understand, communicate, and read instructions, schedules, and reports.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, including email and Proficient Excel knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers and staff in a clear manner and handle customer complaints in a clear manner.
  • Must have basic problem-solving abilities and basic-intermediate knife proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, lift, and stand constantly for up to 4 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to work with various food materials with no negative allergic reactions.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to tolerate basic cleaning chemicals used for routine housekeeping.
  • Must be able to maneuver on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work outside and in changing environments, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to work in a loud environment.
