Job Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our Inpatient Pharmacy team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational and strategic direction of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Operational Oversight
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Inpatient Pharmacy team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Develop and implement operational plans to improve efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize resource utilization.
  • Strategic Planning and Financial Management
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth, and implement strategies to achieve these goals.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement business plans, pro formas, and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Quality and Service Improvement
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient and provider satisfaction, and ensure high-quality care delivery.
    • Collaborate with quality improvement teams to identify and address areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement processes to ensure standardization of patient and provider experiences.
  • Operational Performance and Professional Development
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize operations, improve space utilization, and standardize processes.
    • Identify and develop top talent, and provide opportunities for growth and development.
    • Mentor and coach leaders and care team members to perform at the top of their ability.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including leadership, staff, and patients.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to engage additional resources and subject matter experts to complete projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
    • 4 years of pharmacy leadership experience in academic and inpatient pharmacy environments with direct supervision of other pharmacy leaders.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and multiple disciplines.
    • Talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality, effective team.
    • Proven ability to lead change, organize teams, and delegate responsibility appropriately.
    • Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
