We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to individuals with mental health conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
- Current, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- At least 1 year of experience in inpatient mental health nursing, preferably in a VA setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree or higher.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology.
- Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMH-BC) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire.
