Position Purpose

The Processing Clerk is responsible for managing and executing various clerical tasks related to case management, including the collection of fees, processing of applications, and maintaining accurate records. This role involves assisting the public and other personnel at the service counter while ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update documentation in the self-help office.
  • Process new case filings using the electronic filing system.
  • Handle summons processing, ensuring proper stamping, sealing, and dating.
  • Input all new paper case filings into the computer system, including scanning and labeling.
  • Collect and record filing fees accurately in the system.
  • Process credit/debit card payments through the designated payment system.
  • Manage Protective Order paperwork, ensuring accurate data entry into the court management system.
  • Review all filings for completeness and compliance.
  • Maintain essential records such as the Protective Order Desk Book and Court Rotation Board.
  • Stay informed on changes in local, state, and federal laws that affect job duties.
  • Prepare and process marriage license applications and associated fees.
  • Organize and prepare necessary documentation packets in advance.
  • Communicate effectively with filers regarding any issues that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with Administrative Rule 9 during document review.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and manage cash handling procedures.
  • Assist judges, court staff, attorneys, and the general public as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a standard office setting, requiring significant typing and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Some lifting and bending may be necessary.
