Job Summary

Ascension is seeking a skilled Facilities Management Manager to oversee the daily operations of our maintenance and facilities department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, with experience in managing staff, budgets, and vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the maintenance and facilities department to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain mid to long-term goals and plans for facility maintenance to maximize safety, aesthetics, operability, and service excellence.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluation, and training activities, and assist with capacity planning for staff and contract labor.
  • Ensure that facilities are maintained, secured, renovated, and constructed according to departmental/organizational policies, procedures, plans, and initiatives.
  • Work directly with vendors and purchasing staff to request proposals for repairs, maintenance, and capital improvements.
  • Assist with the development of and compliance with the departmental budgets, including capital, operating, and construction budgets.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance of applicable statutory, regulatory, and administrative requirements.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and continuous availability of required supplies, materials, utilities, and specialty systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and other drawings, and provide guidance to associates as needed or appropriate.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification specializing in Healthcare Facilities preferred. Certification specializing in Heating, Piping & Cooling preferred. Engineer preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
