Job Title: Lead Cost Consultant / Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a seasoned Lead Cost Consultant / Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and estimation services for a prominent technology client's extensive data center construction initiative. This position entails on-site engagement at the data center facility for a portion of the workweek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and negotiate modifications throughout the construction process.
  • Deliver cost planning and estimation, culminating in the final cost outline.
  • Collaborate with the design services team and general contractor to refine cost estimates.
  • Engage with contractors and project managers to refresh cost assessments.
  • Coordinate cost data sources and suppliers to enhance engineering priorities.
  • Oversee cost evaluations, valuations, and post-contract financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare funding presentations and facilitate value engineering discussions.

Pre-Contract Duties:

  • Formulate cost plans and estimates during the design phase.
  • Provide commercial insights and lead negotiations to secure equitable contract pricing.

Post-Contract Duties:

  • Conduct quantity surveying, cost oversight, and change management tasks.
  • Effectively manage post-contract financial discrepancies and auditing processes.
  • Generate monthly financial reports and negotiate final settlements.
  • Document as-built cost estimates for future benchmarking.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in construction cost management.
  • Degree in construction management, cost management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale construction projects.
  • Understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry and value engineering principles.
