Traveling Medical Specialist

Magnet Medical is a reputable healthcare organization seeking an experienced Traveling Medical Specialist to join their team in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Med Surg and be comfortable working 12-hour night shifts, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.

This position requires a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Traveling Medical Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate care to patients across various diagnoses and procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being during their hospital stay.
Main Responsibilities:- Patient Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessment and physician orders.
- Patient Care:
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to medical protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, lab results, and clinical progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and educate patients on procedures, medication, and recovery plans.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding the plan of care and any changes in condition.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and discharge plans.
- Provide instructions on medication management, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care.
- Documentation:
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Safety & Infection Control:
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent hospital-acquired infections and ensure a safe environment.
- Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions, such as emergencies or complications.
The salary for this role is estimated at $130,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Magnet Medical offers a competitive pay package, including tax-free stipends and benefits.
