About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI scans as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging procedures.

  • Assist in developing new techniques and procedures related to MRI, staying up-to-date with current developments and advancements.
  • Schedule procedures to ensure proper time allocation, minimizing delays and optimizing workflow.
  • Conduct facility tours and demonstrate equipment for visitors, showcasing our state-of-the-art imaging capabilities.
  • Remain current with industry developments by attending relevant seminars and reviewing current literature, applying new knowledge to improve patient care.
  • Assist in other areas of Radiology as needed, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow.
  • Comply with all Radiology Information System entry requirements, including PACS, to ensure accurate patient, film, and supply tracking.
  • Ensure the safety of everyone in the MRI area through limited access, screening, and proper bloodborne pathogen precautions.
  • Inject contrast material by intravenous puncture or established intravenous, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist and support the Radiologic student program, providing clinical guidance and supervision.
  • Provide supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Review images with students on request and provide quarterly evaluations to clinical instructors for formal reviews.
  • Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in magnetic resonance imaging within 24 months of appointment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging techniques and parameters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • One year of experience in computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.
Physical Requirements

This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting or assisting with lifting patients of varying weights and manipulating equipment daily. Frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds is also required.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
