Senior Metallurgical Engineer

Position Title: Metallurgist

Position Summary: The Metallurgist will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes and ensuring the efficiency of metallurgical operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Metallurgist, this position involves collaboration with various teams to meet production goals while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed metallurgical accounting and generate comprehensive reports.
• Develop and implement metallurgical and ore characterization testing programs.
• Set performance benchmarks for production and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to environmental reporting with metallurgical insights.
• Ensure adherence to proper metallurgical sampling techniques.
• Facilitate training and maintain documentation for QA/QC compliance related to analytical and metallurgical tasks.
• Investigate and address significant deviations from established plans.
• Review and analyze processing operational parameters to optimize performance.
• Understand and maintain all processing unit operations.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting gold production.
• Maximize production efficiency across all unit operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in gold processing operations is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering is required.
• Experience with heap leach processes in gold or copper, as well as metallurgical accounting and ore characterization, is preferred.
• Familiarity with production planning is preferred.
• Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large datasets programmatically is required.
• Experience in project management is preferred.
• Knowledge of heap leach modeling is preferred.
• Experience with gold recovery operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with gold production forecasting methods is preferred.
• Ability to present and publish high-quality work is required.
• Strong teamwork skills and excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities are required.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
• Demonstrated excellent safety record is required.
• Strong computer skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position is required.
