Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Emergency Snow Removal Equipment Operators to join our team at the Virginia Department of Transportation. As a seasonal employee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our snow removal operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain medium and heavy-duty equipment, including dump trucks, tractors, front-end loaders, and motor graders.
  • Perform heavy manual labor, including standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Work call-out shifts during day or night to support emergency operations.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (minimum Class B) for the TO II level role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing snow removal operations, especially using single/tandem axle/dump truck, motor grader, backhoe, tractor, front end loader, etc.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on diverse equipment.
  • Experience working 12-hour shifts, night and/or day, when necessary.
