About This Position:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a Right of Way Program Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the direction and management of all appraisal and appraisal-related services statewide.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid Louisiana Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license and have a strong background in appraisal and appraisal-related services. You will work closely with our Right of Way Manager to ensure that all appraisal and appraisal-related services are conducted in accordance with the Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (Uniform Act).

This position requires statewide and overnight travel, and you will be responsible for managing and directing appraisal and appraisal-related services statewide. You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving appraisal reports, ensuring that they are accurate and compliant with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct appraisal and appraisal-related services statewide
  • Review and approve appraisal reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Work closely with the Right of Way Manager to ensure that all appraisal and appraisal-related services are conducted in accordance with the Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (Uniform Act)
  • Travel statewide and overnight to conduct appraisal and appraisal-related services
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for appraisal and appraisal-related services
  • Provide training and guidance to lower-level appraisers
  • Review and approve appraisal reports to ensure that they are accurate and compliant with federal and state regulations
Requirements:
  • Valid Louisiana Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license
  • Strong background in appraisal and appraisal-related services
  • Ability to travel statewide and overnight
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
