Job Description

An employer is seeking a fully remote Linux System Administrator to work on the platform lifecycle. This position requires constant interaction with certification and integration. The Linux system engineer will provide weekly summaries of work completed and escalate issues as needed. Daily, the administrator will develop resolutions to complex problems to support multiple platforms. Solutions will be based on a strong understanding of the platform and ensuring interoperability is maintained. Troubleshooting will be led by this individual and coordinated with other organizations and vendors. This position will also develop test cases to validate solutions and verify assumptions.

When troubleshooting, the individual will lead calls to recreate problems when needed, gather information for vendors to provide an RCA within 5 days for complex problems or 2 days for medium complexity problems.

1 day for simple problems.

This position will also be responsible for transitioning troubleshooting notes, logs, and meeting records into procedures for operations to implement in production.

These procedures must be highly organized, detailed, and well-written for operations to implement with 100% accuracy many times over.

The Linux System Administrator will also create/develop test case automation and tools using Ansible and Python. They will provide input for new test cases for automation and verification.

This individual will actively work day to day to develop and improve hundreds of test cases and automated routines to improve time to market and reduce man hours required to support both platforms.

Skills and Requirements

5 years minimum experience as a system administrator.

System administration experience with Linux.

Previous experience in the telecommunications field.

Proficiency in either Python or Ansible programming languages.

Cloud architecture experience, specifically OpenShift and Kubernetes. Military experience

Bachelor's degree null
