Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers and infrastructure personnel to design and implement high-performance Linux servers.
  • Build, configure, and tune servers to meet application requirements, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Review requirement documents, define hardware needs, and update processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Veritas volume manager and VCS cluster systems, ensuring seamless data management and recovery.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing, data center migrations, and document results to ensure business continuity.
  • Apply vulnerability patches and firmware updates to maintain compliance and security.
  • Automate systems administration tasks using Ansible and shell scripts, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Coordinate with teams to resolve issues and deliver projects on time, providing root cause analysis and RCA post-restoration.
  • Design testing approaches, complex processes, and reporting streams, and assist with automation of repetitive tasks.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, or be on-call as needed.
  • Conduct project-related research and assess risks, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding clients and assets.
  • Handle issues and escalations, resolving production problems and reporting to management on status and technical matters.
  • Plan and implement improved processes, backup and recovery plans, and uniform methodologies and standards.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of RedHat Linux 7/8, CoreOS, and OpenShift.
  • Good knowledge of network and domain services (AD, DNS).
  • Ability to create simple automation scripts using Ansible or other scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Understanding of network protocols and tools used for troubleshooting.
  • Good to have and a willingness to learn internal and vendor purpose-built technologies required for the High Frequency trading platform.
