Job Title: Principal Engineer - Logistics/Supportability Engineering

We are seeking a highly-experienced Principal Engineer - Logistics/Supportability Engineering to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will be responsible for performing product support engineering analyses and planning tasks for integrated communication and avionics systems and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently with minimal management oversight to coach and develop junior team members on integrated product support element activities.
  • Perform and develop Maintenance Planning / Maintenance Task Analysis, Life Cycle Cost/Cost of Ownership Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance / Condition Based Maintenance requirements, Spares analysis, Trade Studies to illustrate cost/benefit of various support alternatives, and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  • Identify common and peculiar support equipment requirements, coordinate and drive discussions with Central Support Services leadership on resource planning and project execution, and develop and manage Supportability Engineering data inputs to Logistics Management Information / Logistics Product Data.
  • Identify DMSMS drivers, develop DMSMS planning, evaluate and implement DMSMS resolutions, and travel approximately 20%.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience working with customers to define requirements, experience defining support and maintenance requirements at the organizational, intermediate, and depot level for electronic equipment, and experience performing Reliability Centered Maintenance Analyses/Condition Based Maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Windchill, SlicWave, PowerLog J2, EAGLE, COMPASS, CASA, OPUS, CATLOC, VMETRIC, CAMEO.
  • Support modelling experience using Excel and other general modelling and programming tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with Maintainability, Reliability, Safety, and Testability functional groups.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is preferred.
