Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at The Computer Merchant. As a key member of our systems engineering team, you will provide technical direction and design to software agile development teams and other engineering personnel.

Your responsibilities will include performing technical analyses, defining how the system works, creating use cases, system capability and feature designs, defining system interfaces and acceptance criteria. You will also provide engineering support for the implementation of a portion of the program's systems engineering.

To succeed in this role, you must have systems engineering development lifecycle experience using an Agile methodology. You will collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams to design and develop software, assist in providing technical information and clarification during the entire software development lifecycle, and perform solution decomposition from customer epics to capabilities to features to stories according to SAFe Agile practices.

You will apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development effort and engage with SMEs from other disciplines to fully understand the solution and document the designs.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 6 years' experience. An active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Additional qualifications include demonstrated system engineering and technical experience with software systems development, experience in agile software development activities, including system level design specification and integration test and verification activities, domain experience in IC GEOINT, and experience using the Atlassian tool suite.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

* Domain experience in IC GEOINT

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with streaming data formats including Full Motion Video and Moving Target Indicator data
* Strong communications skills to support technical exchange meetings and design briefings
* Engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology
* Experience using MBSE processes and tools to capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tools
