About the Role

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a highly skilled Communication Access Coordinator to join our Disability Services team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting students with diverse abilities, ensuring their full engagement in campus life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster inclusive communication practices for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with faculty and student supervisors on accommodation implementation
  • Manage a caseload of students with varying disabilities and accommodation needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with interpreters and other communication access professionals
  • Provide support and advocacy for students across academic, social, and psychological aspects
  • Evaluate and prioritize case management demands
  • Maintain accurate records and generate performance reports

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Over three years of relevant experience
  • ASL fluency and awareness of federal ADA regulations for the Deaf/HOH community
  • Experience with communication strategies and technologies
  • Working knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and related laws
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $73,432 annually, commensurate with experience, along with an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan options, and generous paid time off.
