AvaMed Workforce is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.


Position Details
  • Psychiatric Program
  • 40 Hours per week
  • Location: Stockton, CA
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (3 day weekend)
  • Rate: $54-$60hr ($2,160-2,400/week)

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Institution's CEO or designee, the Recreational Therapist will be responsible for developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services to promote social interaction, encourage beneficial and appropriate utilization of leisure time, and provide preparation for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.


Requirements
  • Must be Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
  • Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel
  • Evaluate recreation therapy needs for patients with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies
