Compensation: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $17.22 to $24.04, with a starting salary between $17.22 and $20.63, based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all visitors at the Recycling Center.
- Verify customer permits and vouchers for waste disposal.
- Accurately process cash, checks, and card transactions.
- Assist in balancing the cash register and maintaining accurate records throughout each shift.
- Reconcile daily revenues during shift changes and at the end of the day.
- Report and assist in resolving any discrepancies in the cash register.
- Measure and calculate the volume of incoming loads using appropriate tools.
- Inspect incoming materials for compliance and guide customers accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of daily vehicle counts.
- Communicate with vendors on-site and manage documentation for incoming and outgoing loads.
- Educate customers about recycling practices, policies, and alternative disposal options.
- Monitor the site for safety, addressing unsafe behaviors as necessary.
- Utilize sound judgment to resolve complex situations effectively.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Recycling Center.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
- Provide assistance to visitors unloading materials.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Proficient in completing transactions and preparing cash reports using basic math.
- Familiarity with digital cash register systems.
- Willingness to learn and communicate recycling practices and policies.
- Commitment to following established safety protocols.

Experience: A minimum of one year in cash handling, register operations, and customer relations in a dynamic environment is required.
