Job Overview

We are a Custom Fabrication Shop seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our team. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing custom tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support production activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in toolmaking, tooling, manual machining, CNC machining, and tool making. They will be able to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate production.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with the engineering and production teams to identify and implement tooling improvements. You will also conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including $30-$40 an hour depending on experience, first shift flexible hours, and plenty of OT available. Our shop is well-ventilated, and we value our customers and take pride in our work.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and repairing custom tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Operating manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts.
  • Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Collaborating with the engineering and production teams.
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving tooling problems.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Providing technical support and training to junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in toolmaking or a related role.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Strong knowledge of tool design and fabrication techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues.
