Financial Oversight:
- Establish and uphold financial plans, benchmarks, and forecasts for designated large-scale and/or multi-year initiatives.
- Consolidate, verify, and refresh financial projections and expenditure strategies based on asset categories, cost influences, and funding sources.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate both routine and intricate reports to aid Project Managers and organizational partners in tracking, managing, and predicting expenses (e.g., budget, actual costs, commitments, contingency funds, earned value metrics).
- Address internal or external inquiries regarding data for significant projects and programs.
Risk Assessment:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk log.
- Assess the necessary level of contingency through methods such as Monte Carlo simulations.
Research and Data Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough and detailed research, updates, and data analysis in cost control areas (e.g., budget, actuals, commitments, contingency, earned value).
- Compile and present findings, alternatives, and recommendations to support strategic decisions and minimize potential risks.
Change Management and Contract Oversight:
- Assist in the management of change processes and contract negotiations.
- Support the implementation, analysis, and reporting of performance metrics using industry standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Engage with stakeholders and apply relevant estimating, cost management, and scheduling techniques to convey results effectively.
Data Management in Project Controls:
- Prepare responses to project controls data requests and documentation to support governance, audits, and regulatory submissions.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of seven years in cost management or controls.
- Proven experience in Project Management, Project Controls, or Construction Management, preferably within utility or regulatory environments.
- Strong background in contract negotiation and management, including claims handling and change order processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with Project Controls software like Primavera or similar tools.
Educational Background:
- A combination of education, training, and experience typically equivalent to a 4-year degree in a relevant field. An advanced degree is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with complex functions.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with various management levels.
- Ability to work autonomously in meetings.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Experience in transmission or utility sectors is a plus.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adaptability.
