The division leverages the skills of engineers, designers, planners, inspectors, IT specialists, and analysts to support the agency's commitment to safety and urban mobility goals.

Role Responsibilities: As the Art Room Director, you will report directly to the Deputy Director of Interior Operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the planning and coordination of the preparation, installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices.
  • Supervising a team of Traffic Device Maintainers and Letterers, ensuring efficient production and installation of traffic signs and supports.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as personnel duties, performance evaluations, and method improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a secure work environment.
  • Driving a motor vehicle as part of operational duties and ensuring proper safety equipment usage.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Traffic Device Maintainer within the NYC Department of Transportation or three years of relevant experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, including supervisory experience.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver license in the State of New York, with the potential requirement for a Class B Commercial Driver License for certain roles.
