Nutrition Specialist

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team. As a key member of our WIC clinic, you will play a vital role in providing nutrition counseling and education to our clients.

We are looking for a Registered Dietitian (RD) to work in our WIC clinics located in Burien and South Park, near Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling, high-risk counseling, and assisting in the WIC certification process.

• Maintain complete and up-to-date charts, documenting counseling sessions as specified by program guidelines.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with team members and other Sea Mar staff.
• Provide medical, MSS, and patient nutritional assessment and nutrition counseling.
• Facilitate appointment time through scheduling and following up on failed appointments according to protocol.
• Compare information collected to program criteria to accurately determine WIC eligibility and nutrition risk factors.
• Determine appropriate food package, explain nutrient content of WIC foods, and issue manual or computerized food vouchers.

• Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in nutrition from an accredited university.
• Completed an accredited dietetic internship program or Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Dietetics.
• 7 hours of HIV/AIDS course.
• WA State Registration and Certification for Dietitian or RD/CD eligible.
• Medical Assistant-Registered Certification required for Hemoglobin testing for WIC RD.

• Experience in a community nutrition setting with an interest in weight management, diabetes education, and pediatric nutrition.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in outpatient or similar nutrition setting.
• Experience with long-term care programs.
• Current Adult/Pediatric CPR certification.
