Job Overview

The Kitchen Steward at Longleaf Restaurant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This position involves various responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils are kept in a clean and organized state.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the dishwashing area.
  • Thoroughly clean food preparation areas, facilities, and equipment.
  • Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in designated areas.
  • Sort and dispose of trash, ensuring it is placed in the appropriate pickup locations.
  • Perform sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Receive and store kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and organize the service area.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Required to use hands and arms for reaching, as well as the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Finger dexterity and hand coordination are essential, along with specific vision capabilities (close, distance, and ability to adjust/focus).
