Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Inpatient Hospice team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and their families in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing care and administer medications to patients under the supervision of a Licensed Professional.
  • Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
  • Assist in the coordination of healthcare services, including scheduling appointments and arranging transportation for patients.
  • Participate in the nursing process to include planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's plan of care.
  • Collect and document objective data, subjective data, and patient care, including focused observations such as pain, pain relief, results of treatments, updates to plan of care, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Administer ordered medications and treatments within scope of practice, as prescribed by a Licensed Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
Requirements
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the state of employment or LPN applicant.
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (may be required for specialty areas).
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (may be required for specialty areas).
  • NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (may be required for specialty areas).
  • Valid state Driver's license (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of clinical patient care experience in Hospice, acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice.
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
